Dead Island Completed

Finally finished this game. Took this long since I don't own my own copy and had to borrow one.

Have to say, some weapons are crazy expensive to repair.

Dawnguard Impressions

So after waiting an extra week due to plans getting disrupted, Dawnguard is loaded up on my console. Fucking love the shit out of the Vampire Lord power. The fact they give us poison claws and a Force Grip-esque power is really just icing on the cake.

Next Week Is Going To Rock

Now, since Dawnguard has been released I've been fucking amped up. Unfortunately the timing of the release happens to be right when I am tapped out for cash. Curse you bills to the layer of hell reserved for people who talk in theaters.

Good news out of all this, Tuesday is payday. I have errands to run that day anyway, so I can grab a point card with some cash while I'm out or even drop in on a local Game Stop for a DLC card if I feel like visiting with the employees for awhile.

I'm ready for a new adventure in Skyrim, and it starts next week.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Update

The first update for Minecraft on the 360 rolled out yesterday. This isn't the promised patch that would get the version up to date with 1.7.3 unfortunately. Instead it is a bug fix patch, which is nice considering there were some pretty bad ones that had me waiting to play again until they were fixed.

LASO: Long Night of Solace

Use the infinite respawning marines near the beginning of the level to fill up on rocket ammo. That will make the first part of the Covenant carrier part a lot easier.

Also, Needle Rifle is your best friend throughout the mission. At the very end when you are defending the Pelican with Jorge, do not let the gun on the front of it get destroyed. You can actually crouch next to it and wiggle around then move backwards while holding X you can actually control gun and be impervious to damage. Otherwise, have fun with the Ultras that come pouring out.

Xbox Live Mad Scientist

Just stumbled across the Xbox Live Labs deal that was launched a week ago. I never check the "My Community" tab on the dashboard. Basically if you let your console idle and run this piece of software, they'll give you free avatar gear modeled after a mad scientist. Count me in.

Oh, and for those that go after achievements you also get three 0G 'cheevos. Pointless really, but for the 'cheevo hunters out there that really doesn't matter much.

Defiant

Had my first taste earlier and I love Condemned. The epic battles I had in low gravity...I long for more. That and to play Highlands.

The Endless Progress Bar

Internet is back on and I'm downloading the final version of the Defiant Map Pack to my console. The progress bar is taunting me by simply stopping on a percentage for awhile.

Fable II Awarded the...Wait...What?

It has just come to my attention that Fable II, exclusive to the Xbox 360, was awarded the 'animal-friendly videogame' award by none other than PETA. I'll link you to the article here in a moment, thank you Twitter updates to my phone and PlayTM, but first I want to quote one little line I thought was hilarious from their update: "In other news: Peter Molyneux has chained himself to a railing outside Burger King in Guildford High Street..." ~Luke Guttridge

Just read the article, I got a good laugh out of it despite the shortness and I can see why PETA supports it. You should take a look for yourselves rather than relying on my word for it.
